The two games in Petoskey marked the final games to be played at Turcott field before construction on a new complex that will replace the 50 year old facility begins. The Northmen wanted to close out the old ball park with a pair of wins and did just that.

In the opening game Petoskey walked away with a 9-3 win over the Black Sox. The game was close with Petoskey up 1-0 going into the fourth inning as Black Sox pitcher Jeb Pallot kept the Northmen off balance until Petoskey scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth.

The Black Sox responded with a three-run inning thanks to a three-run homerun by Eric Thornton to make the score 5-3 at the time. Petoskey would add four more runs for the 9-3 final.

Also contributing offensively for the Black Sox were Brock Barry with a single and walk, and Collin McAuley and Scott Morphet had singles in the loss.

Petoskey was led offensively by Zak Kruskie with a double and single. The winning pitcher for Petoskey was Ean Walda.

In the second game, the Black Sox ran into a hot pitcher on a very hot and humid afternoon. Kruskie held the Black Sox to two hits and Petoskey shut out the locals 9-0.

The only hits for the Black Sox were singles from Coty Anderson and Collin McAuley. Scott Morphet started for the Black Sox and went the first three innings. Dana Lesage and Kris Kerr came on in relief. Kerr pitched two scoreless innings.

Petoskey was led offensively by Cody Chilcot with a three-run homerun, Kruskie had a single and double. As well, Hunter Stinger had two singles off Black Sox pitchers.

Next action for the Black Sox is Wednesday night in Alpena.
