Sabercats Loss Last Game of Season Against Ravens

In Ontario Varsity Fooball League action, the Sault Sabercats hit Rocky DiPierto Field at 1 p.m in their last regular season game against the Essex Ravens from Essex, Ontario in South Western Ontario.
 
The Sabercats entered the game in fourth place in a two way tie with the Guelph Bears, with both teams having a 5 – 3 – 0 record in the OVFL. 
 
The Sabercats took a hard hit going into the first round of playoffs with a 56 – 7 loss to the third place Ravens in the Adam Conference.
 
Leading the Sault in rushing was Stevan Hiiemaa with 12 carries good for 35 yards.  Ben Muncaster followed Hiiemaa with five carries for 21 yards. 
 
The Sabercats roster was depleted against the Ravens with quarterback Casey Wright, Pat Turcotte, AlexMorrison, Matt Fitton out with injuries and Ray Duplin who was in London Ontario playing for Team Ontario in the Canada Cup.
 
The Sabercats will be on the field July 28th at 7 p.m when they meet the Guelph Bears.  The Sault earns the right to home field advantage in the first round when the they beat the Bears 49 – 25 in OVFL action.
